Sounds like they may have had experience as National Guard in the past, and were just 'deputized' a day before so that they could act as such in the capital. Their assignment there expired Nov 30th otherwise.

Wow - If that's what happened, it sure sounds like it was a mistake to try to upgrade all those buildings at once. This photo seems to show a green netting over one or two towers.... their entire height. If the material was so flammable, that should have been known before using it so extensively.

Just when you think the man cannot exhibit any greater insanity or invent another flipped-out plan.... he chooses to prove everyone wrong. This guy is mean and ugly - through and through.

I don't believe that Canada has "given in" at any point in this ugly game. Only Conservatives seem to think that if you're not rolling around in the mud, fighting the damned US President and his cronies, you're backing down or 'giving in'. Nothing can be further from the truth....

This CANNOT be the result of an accidental fires. Not if 5 of the towers were affected.
Anyone else have second thoughts about living in very tall condo or apartment buildings in Canada?

Never overestimate the importance of our natural resource exports - especially when hearing it from Alberta - or PP.

You're right about WHO will have command of that LNG project.... American companies. And that's what happens when Canada tries to placate indigenous with projects that the indigenous cannot handle on their own. They sell out to whomever has the highest bid:

Mike Hurley, Burnaby mayor, eh?
No surprise.... the man knows how to feather his nest:

Unless Carney has an even bigger card to play. . .
If he opens up our vehicle market to EVs from Asia, there will be a huge drop in need for oil. Not only in the US, from drop of vehicles bought in Canada..... but also from need for oil in Canada for vehicles using batteries.
November 27, 2025 at 7:06 PM
Look on a map. Look where the LNG pipeline starts, where it ends. Then envision tankers loading that LNG and heading to Asia. Where do you envision 'tankers up and down BC's coast'?
November 25, 2025 at 1:13 AM
Some of that expansion - like the liquid natural gas pipeline from Dawson Creek to Kitimat - was started *before* the arrival of Mark Carney as PM. And that gives us good reason to question why 'indigenous-owned' projects get the green light with little noise... and others do not.

Hardly a military turning on its own citizens.... These are incidents where armed groups have either killed or taken hostage citizens. And if they are province-wide armed groups, such as the FLQ crisis, military had to be called in just because of large area needing control. Never like US bs.

We've had lots of 'crises' before. They were handled by local police or, if involving serious threat to citizens, military backup for the police:

Bring us those EVs made in China.... but be sure to demand that their plants in Canada hire Canadian auto workers. And let Canadians decide for themselves whether they want to buy EVs from China... or gas guzzlers from the US.

@bluejays.com
Is it enough to just say 'we love you' .... and wish you the very best in tonight's game?
Watching you play through that 18-inning game was like watching a team of Energizer bunnies... the audience got tired before your players. WE love you, no matter what.... 😍

Now take it to the Midterms.... and then protect it through to the next federal election.
