THIS IS A WEIRD FURRY ACCOUNT WITH FETISHY STUFF!
That undeserved sense of entitlement is a plague that pretty much originated with modern gaming social media I'm pretty sure. Like

*studio delays a game for quality control reasons.*

"LAZY DEVS SCREEEEE"

*Studio greenlights early access*

"This game sucks and is full of bugs and runs like shit"

We can't just keep conveniently aggregating all of our information and knowledge in controlled spaces where those in charge can do widespread data mining, unrestricted surveillance, and actively control the narrative. Remember what happened to Twitter? There eventually won't be any free spaces left

These rules imposed by corporate owned platforms seem petty and inconsequential now but they set a precedent. The nazis did a perfectly good job of silencing opposition without modern technology and communications. The proof of concept is already being tested, fascism is back with fancy new toys.

By that point anyone who doesn't comply will already have their social media accounts removed, their means of income taken away, and their voices silenced. There are already systems in place to ensure nobody hears the alarm bells, most of our society has already gone deaf so it won't matter anyway

I'm just waiting for the day that people who speak out against fascist ideals in the interest of capital start being dragged into a van and taken to a dark room to review printouts of their social media posts with buzzcut-wearing goons in body armor. It'll be too late by then

I'm probably already on a watchlist for some of the stuff I've said online. We all are, anyone who doesn't confirm to society or swallow the narrative is. There are no restraints anymore and recent events have shown bad actors don't have to face any consequences.

People making slop content with genAI and cheating on schoolwork is one thing, but Systems trained to profile users and manage/suppress/censor/monitor all communication is the real danger. There is no transparency in dealing with these big media companies. We've completely surrendered control.

Like I realized the other day that I can't even watch history documentaries on YouTube anymore. There is no quality content because an AI will demonize your channel if you don't blur out Hitler's face and call him "funny moustache man". It's enforcing a new era of surveillance, control and newspeak.

We've sold our souls to these massive corporations in exchange for the convenience of not having to manage our own communities and services anymore. It doesn't need to be like this. I remember the old Internet well enough to know that it wasn't always like this and we don't have to accept it.

It's to track political dissent. People are using it to organize action against things like ICE and Israeli imperialism, can't be having that. Raping kids is apparently legal for rich people anyways so I guess I don't see what the big deal is.

My main concerns are that product key verification might not be as easy since it would need custom software. That and forums are notoriously hacker and bot magnets but Discord is full of scams and spam now anyway so maybe that idea is outdated.

I've honestly always hated it. It was fine when it was just a messenger with voice chat and streaming but now it's so enshittified that almost everything it does could be done better with seperate specialized apps.

I'm looking at forum software because really the only reason I even have nitro is for the vore system server and it's a shit format to use for tech support and community management.

Like everything discord is used for in indie projects was done better with a forum. Also forums can be archived.

Yeah. There's a reason small desktop widescreens vanished in the early 2010s: they are absolute ass and nobody would buy them except OEMs selling cyber monday special prebuilts and skinflint corpos who'd have an employee sterilization program if it helped cut back on childcare related absences.
