I do have a couple animations I haven't uploaded here so I should probably correct that :>

Imagine going back in time to tell a kid in the 90s there's going to be a Sonic the hedgehog movie with Jim Carrey as Eggman but it's not coming out for another 25 years

It's the last time I can remember feeling like installing a new version of Windows was actually an upgrade. I used XP for the entirety of the 2000s and skipped Vista entirely

Windows 7 is still the best version

A animation I created using one of my old art commissions from Eadou enjoying his lively meal. This one was very fun to do, even though this took a lot long longer to make then usual.

you say that as if the radios can actually reach outside the house to begin with LOL. It's main job is going to be giving my laptop access to a dedicated network drive for my retro stuff so I can do more fancy things with my laptop

OK take 2 on the retro laptop wifi but this time I won't brick the card with a botched firmware upgrade...
killerkobold.bsky.social
I couldn't get the driver on 98 to recognize it so I went to downgrade the firmware to the version included with the 9x drivers and it deaded-ded sadly.

Update: Failed firmware flash bricked it :(

there are pretty much no security options besides choosing whether you want a 64 bit or 128 bit WEP key. It's primitive enough to where a literal child with a couple basic tools could easily hack it lmao

My account is involuntary flagged as a porn account

Yeah hackers must have been gooning hard during the early WiFi days

Oh god this 2002 laptop WiFi adapter card is configured to connect to ANY AVAILABLE SSID IN RANGE BY DEFAULT
killerkobold.bsky.social
It's a good thing you didn't get a stable signal outside more than a 10 foot visual range with no obstructions between you and the router LOL. I remember having to move a potted potted plant to get a signal in my bedroom when the router was one room over
killerkobold.bsky.social
It's wild to me that setting a password for your WiFi network used to be an optional feature that was off by default LOL

Now that I actually have a managed switch I can finally isolate my retro computers to a quarantined vlan so they can play in their little virus-filled sandbox together
