But this trip made me realize that if there is an afterlife all I hope for is to live in a walkable, beautiful, diverse, vibrant city with the people I love. That would be heaven to me.

…The prettiest canal streets and historic houses imaginable, residents and visitors from all over the world. A dense city of a million people with no traffic noise!

We took a babymoon to Amsterdam and it has taken me a few months to post about it because I got kind of depressed coming home to my car-centric red state. But Amsterdam was incredible in every way. More bikes than people, transit with five minute frequency…

Just got back from a weekend at Zion National Park with my family. So many sacred moments worshipping in nature with my kids. I pray that the national parks and other wild places I love will survive the next four years.

We picked up our Christmas tree by bike this year and I don’t know why we haven’t been doing this all along! The kids were really proud and everyone we encountered on the road gave us the biggest smile.
