Even if stuff in this province wasn't as bat&^%t as it is right now, I don't know why more people don't look into who is making decisions about policy in schools and in their communities, when these things often have more direct and immediate impact than things at higher levels of government.

#AB pals, I think we should take all the disastrous and terrifying stuff going down in American cities as a reminder why municipal elections really do matter and why we should research candidates at every level...school board trustees and city councillors too, not just mayoral candidates.

Criticizing a politician for their policy, especially when it diverges from what they campaigned on, isn't 'badmouthing'...it's holding them to account.

An electorate and the media should voice their support and their opposition and report on policy that strengthens or harms, not just cheerlead.

Thinking this morning of how many teachers I know who are married to other teachers, and raising kids, and the financial stress that a prolonged strike could bring. But still, they are fighting for public education, for all of our kids, and ultimately a better world.
