I’m a retired Psych RN who makes original quilts. Recent transplant from Denver to Long Beach. Love reading, dogs and cats, family and photography. Here to listen, learn and converse. Many opinions available.
Currently working on this quilt for my son and his wife. I designed it on the wall and I made it too big! 126” by 96”. I’m trying to figure out a way to make it smaller without ruining the aesthetic. Also my cat interfering with my process! #quiltsky #catsky.

It’s really wild how there is no reason to deport anyone, let alone children and US citizens and LPRs and students and people undergoing cancer treatment etc. it’s all a fake solution to a made up problem enacted by violent racists who are stealing from you

This is a fun piece I made for a friend. It’s a little busy, but that’s totally appropriate for her.

I finally got most of my fabric unpacked. Trying to focus on something other than the state of things, but I’m worried.

What was the first book you read that had a long lasting effect in your life? Mine was Harriet the spy by Louise Fitzhugh. A young girl journaling her feelings helped me feel less alone with my own feelings. I realized everybody thinks and feels things that no one else will ever know and that’s OK.

This is one of the ways I like to create. The configuration might be changed 50+ times before I decide it’s ready.

A family tree quilt. I printed the photos on fabric printer sheets, and also laid out the tree. My sister did all the sewing background leaves, etc..it was an anniversary present.

Free motion quilted floral batik hi tops.

I made these kickin’ kicks from a @bucklebee.bsky.social kit which includes instruction book, pattern, soles, insoles, etc.

Fabric is from my stash.

A pair of woolen low tops are in my future. Maybe even felted. 🤔

Twitter highlights from better times.
Commented on a Vincent D’onofrio thread and got an answer from him.
Louis Andersen followed me (I liked something he shared.)
I defended Elaine Boosler and she followed me.
Sinbad liked and answered a comment from me with, “Haha”.
X, you’ll never be Twitter.
