It’s good that the EU is targeting red states for their tariffs,but these are all the red welfare states. Does that mean that after the tariffs start biting, the blue states will just have to prop them up further?

I grew up being taught that congress controls the purse strings. Apparently this is no longer the case. Will we continue to teach our children about this bedrock of our system? It seems at this time, that this guiding principle has been tossed aside.

There seems to be the false notion that we can address an intractable problem by simply changing the way we talk about it. Homelessness becomes unhoused in an attempt to do something about the problem. So, the person under the underpass in a cardboard box can think “ at least I’m not homeless.”

With all the many environmental challenges that we face, we are now confronted with a shit tornado of lies, and bad policy. We can’t afford to move backwards, yet here we are.
