I’m gonna defend Liz Truss, because I like to be blocked by two or so people every day, and say that her plans were 100 times more reasonable than these, in that she thought she would have enough time to bounce Tory MPs into backing spending cuts. Much less daft than anything Badenoch has said.

This morning‘s walk with #SophieFromRomania had everything – a film crew setting up, kids going to school, the bin lorry, the excitement of another dog to bark at furiously. And throughout there was my bad back which meant I had to stop every few yards. All in all I think she coped pretty well.

I have been all over the world. Dubai and Moscow are the only 2 places I never want to see again. Dubai is a hellhole.

I have been to about 70 countries and I always take public transport where I can. Some is great. Some is terrible. That a city as massive and rich as NYC has such terrible public transport is an indictment. Londoners don't know how lucky they are.

I love this guy. He gets the things that matter on a day to day basis for people. I have regularly taken the bus in NYC. If you think London buses are slow, you haven't had the dubious pleasure of taking an NYC bus which moves more slowly than the pedestrians alongside.

The legal profession (for example) is stuffed full of people who studied English, politics, a language etc before they took the conversion course to become lawyers. Kemi apparent read law. She should know this. God, does she have anything remotely sensible to say ?

Something grimly predictable about the way that the conversation about 'ripoff degrees' in the UK is always about degrees that aren't rip-offs, but are instead fairly obvious 'this student has chosen something unlikely to pay off economically' rather than the short tail of crap business degrees:

Everyone needs educating in the fight over university degrees

Political confusion over the purpose of these institutions means the obvious fixes are being neglected

The elimination of USAID is a moral atrocity and all involved made a choice to enable, and then lie about, ending the lives of some of the most vulnerable people in the world.

MAE SOT, Thailand (AP) - Mohammed Taher clutched the lifeless body of his 2-year-old son and wept. Ever since his family's food rations stopped arriving at their internment camp in Myanmar in April, the father had watched helplessly as his once-vibrant baby boy weakened, suffering from diarrhea and begging for food.
On May 21, exactly two weeks after Taher's little boy died, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio sat before Congress and declared: "No one has died" because of his government's decision to gut its foreign aid program. Rubio also insisted: "No children are dying on my watch."
That, Taher says, "is a lie."
