Trump’s VA is pulling the rug out from under thousands of Veterans who were promised help keeping their homes.

This is what happens when you put someone who calls us “suckers and losers” in charge.

In 2024, even as Trump promised a more aggressive trade war that could cripple the farm economy, rural voters nonetheless preferred Trump to Kamala Harris. And now they and their leaders want taxpayers to finance another round of bailouts to protect them from the consequences of their own votes.
Don’t Bail Out the Farmers

It all depends what they do on the ground. In all likelihood it will turn into one big spades game but this is obviously a dress rehearsal. Hegseth is gonna push the limit a little bit now and a little bit more next time.
I taught military officers for 25 years. It is not an illegal order to be deployed to Los Angeles. They'd be in a shit-ton of trouble for saying "I refuse the order of my platoon and company commander to move with my unit." That's not how it works, except in the movie you're watching in your head.

Can always count on the NYT to find a way to say “bigotry” in 800 words. Biden spent his entire presidency taking Massachusetts money and giving it to these people and in JD Vance’s words, they won’t say thank you.
“One Trump supporter told me that if you like the guy who’s making you suffer, you don’t mind so much,” writes Arlie Hochschild, who recently spent time chatting with people who live in eastern Kentucky.

If we ever have another free election in the United States, we need the future department of justice to investigate the current ICE practices. The political people aren’t the only ones that should be held accountable. ICE agents for months now have gone along with these unconstitutional arrests.

If you think you're having a bad day think about the board of directors of Tesla who are quite literally on the line, legally, for everything that Musk did over the last eight months.

Lots in the GOP budget and agenda that goes after Obamacare. The ACA was a giant transfer of money from blue to red states and has especially helped rural Americans. This isn’t their first shot at crippling the ACA either.

Apparently we are getting rid of all “non merit” aka race, gender admissions goals/standards at service academies and presumably rotc as well. I assume this means we will get rid of another key diversity effort in the DoD, that is congressional appointments…

I will never forget that the week Qatar decided to bribe the president of the United States with a plane, CNN decided to focus on the age and health of an ex-president.

Shame.

Now would be a great time for Cardinal Timothy Dolan of NYC to get just as offended as he was when a home goods store was asked to pay for mini rubber balloons as part of its employee health insurance plan or when a small town in Wisconsin was told they could either…

You’d think the media would cover Trump’s mental deficiencies after the two incoherent interviews this week but I guess the president’s cognitive abilities are only an issue when a Democrat happens to be in the White House.

The Trump for Pope thing would be a great opportunity for every catholic priest or politician in a clergy collar to get just as offended as when they refused to serve John Kerry communion for his political opinion on a modern medical procedure.

Sitting on the edge or my seat to see how the so called “legal experts”, pundits, and “moderate” GOP politicians will twist this Trump 2028 hat scheme into something semi legal, the democrats fault, or another “brilliant Trump plan”.

Care to mention this is ILLEGAL @nytimes.com ? Not to mention “Campus Crackdown” implies wrongdoing. And on the whole, outside of Columbia, protester first amendment violations by police and universities were more egregious the last two years than vandalism and other disturbance crimes.

Who’d they vote for?
Good way to see the current tariffs, as of literally today, is no tariffs on high value add manufactured goods marketed to middle and upper middle classes. Massive tariffs for cheap consumer items which amount to the biggest economic privilege of working class/middle class life in US.
