ICE can do their job in a legal way. In a democratic administration, ICE agents who have arrested immigrants who are violent criminals can go on with their careers. ICE agents that have arrested people for writing op-eds in student newspapers, must stand trial. An oath should still mean something.

At this point, fighting over these changes might not be worth it. There are other things worth spending political capital on. How much longer are we going to work to make the lives of GOP voters better just so they can punish us in the polls the next November?

You could fill the officer corps with just MA, CA, NY, IL etc. You would have a better educated force. I’d agree that wouldn’t be healthy. Neither is only having straight white men.

Right now Oklahoma (49th in education) gets as many nominations to West Point/Annapolis (7 congressmen, 2 senators) as Connecticut (a hell of a lot higher in education). Are we eliminating that or do we like that particular type of dei? …

Just because he failed, doesn’t mean he didn’t try. Those who continue to downplay Trump need to sit this one out. For example, Chris Sununu needs to stop running his mouth. He has been so wrong so many times, you’d think he’d have some concept of humility.
