The trap I see establishment Democrats and their mouthpieces making is having your political moral compass based on the popularity of any issue rather than the morality of any issue. The vast majority of human rights issues aren't popular until they are enacted. Take the moral position.

At the half way point of Jon Stewart's interview with senator Chris Murphy, you can see the senator say to himself "fuck it, let's just give them the lumber." Damage control, most definitely, but an honest and ruthless conversation about democratic policy in the past decade nonetheless. Great work.

I never understood the "no spoilers" part of the media zeitgeist(?). I always enjoyed hearing the parts of movies and TV shows that my friends find interesting because it makes me interested in watching what they are talking about, so I guess short of the long.

The funniest part of the Gulf of Mexico/America fiasco as a former Floridian is we just called it "the Gulf" and nobody acknowledged it as a legitimate body of water to visit, as far as we were concerned that shit belonged to Texas.
