Some places, I'm vigilant, but comfortable enough to show affection with another man in public.

And sometimes, a whole-ass country boy headmate — complete with an east Texas accent and music tastes to match — masks for us. 😁

I love the mountains and the forest, so I'm frequently traveling through very rural areas. The friendliness of local residents varies, but it's not all a "divide."

It really depends on whether fascist propaganda took a foothold in a given place, or the local people stuck with their working roots.

Why they all gotta be trainsphobic?

This is what happens when you use genAI: just take a look at what Gemini hallucinated about Ohio. Exactly who is running for reelection in the Senate there?

There are much better real world sources for race competitiveness analyses. For instance (basic rating of each seat is not paywalled):

Yep that's basically how it was.

This does feel like the gradual shift at SCOTUS that moved in favor of cis gay people a few decades ago. I'm not putting good money on it, but I do hope that shift continues and it isn't just an outlier.

Being fired, for not giving the bias directed from Times management.

(There are recent whistleblowers who have said this explicitly.)

The last season of that show, unfortunately, also leaned into technocratic privatization of space. The Dev character became quite the Elon clone.

There's really no such thing as being entirely apolitical. Who we are, and what we believe in, place us in a political position, whether we openly express that or not.

(And for those who are marginalized by society, there's no such thing as ignoring politics either. We can't "opt out.")

This is the important bit. They have been kidnapping people for *decades* now, including under Obama and Biden, it's just more overt and frequent than it used to be. It's a corrupt agency to its core.

Its predecessor INS wasn't great, but it actually focused on providing the naturalization process.

I was at a job for 11 years, also linchpin of the team. When I left, after a year and change of taking new management abuse, the team fell apart and the company had to restructure. I still had to do it for my sanity.

I gave job references for several teammates who jumped ship shortly after I did.

*baps you lightly on the snoot with rolled up newspaper* Silly doggo 😁

I mean it's only half a joke. If you ever want to talk about the topic in all seriousness, I'm always willing to listen.

The MobilePro 7xx series were much more comfortable for typing, but a little larger in form factor.
January 10, 2026 at 11:03 PM
This is basically the form factor that "clamshell" WinCE handhelds had in the late 1990s. I miss my NEC MobilePro 790 and HP Jornada 720.
