Both of them are central nervous system stimulants, which means increased heart rate and blood pressure in a lot of people, with arrhythmia risk in susceptible people.

My grandfather, who enlisted at 17 to fight in WW2, would be aghast at what's happening here today. He taught me the dangers of fascism when I was a tiny kid, and I never forgot.

Even under this current political regime, heartbreaking as it is after all the activism I've worked on, I'm seeing younger queer people continue to be confidently themselves.

Most of my queer friends are younger than me, some significantly so, and that's partly because there are fewer of my generation to go around.

Yes, part of that is our community's AIDS trauma loss — but it's also a joyous reflection of how younger people are more confident in being openly queer. 1/2
