Now that I think about it, the problem I experienced today on SSA.gov is similar to the problem I had yesterday on TreasuryDirect.gov. The login succeeded, but I was redirected to the equivalent of a 404 page.

Just logged into the social security website (because…). The login works, but I’m redirected to an error saying “we did not find the page you requested”. I assume this means my benefits have been liquidated by Muskrats.

Same as it ever was. It’s time for independent publishers to take back the web.
I tried to keep this short tldr: I think news outlets need to create direct relationships with their audiences, rely on time-tested delivery mechanisms that you own/control, and be direct and transparent about how and why you do the work & what your perspective is
