Conservative apologists for the status quo often stigmatize their opponents as “utopian.”

But socialists and feminists shouldn’t be afraid of the term, since utopian thought can play an important role in helping us develop practical alternatives.

Turning my garden earth into clay plaster that serves as a perfect vapor retarder for high performance building.
I am always amazed at how far removed this is from many people, who at the same time complain about how expensive building is.

It will never not be wild to me that this country agonizes over the behaviour problems of kids, the state of the 'white working class', the standardization of exams, the inspection of schools and yet....this is true and always will be if we don't change it.

In today’s episode of Better-Things-Are-Possible, check out France’s new high speed passenger trains. And one picture of how most U.S. commuters get to work for comparison. Don’t let anyone tell you that healthier, safer, accessible public transit transportation is not possible or is too expensive.

Showed the 7yo and 11yo Monty Python and the Holy Grail last night and all morning they’ve been saying Ni loudly and proudly.

The 11yo now wants to watch Spinal Tap and Airplane. The next couple of family movie nights are gonna be fun.

Sharing and helping others makes life more fun.
“Sharing is not simply about morality,
but also about pleasure. Solitary
pleasures will always exist, but for
most human beings, the most
pleasurable activities almost always
involve sharing something: music,
food, liquor, drugs, gossip, drama,
beds. There is a certain communism
of the senses at the root of most
things we consider fun.”
