I've bought a lot of used books for grad school, and I just love getting one with notes and highlighting in it, because I feel like I'm giving a piece of someone's life a good home.

Yes. Like it makes sense now why the non-matching patterns were a nightmare, but back then -- like it was all I could think about.

Like after having two random strangers walk up to me and start talking to me on Thurs in town, like I'm going to start wearing my headphones in town all the time again, but I shouldn't have to hang a sign around my neck that says "I'm autistic, leave me the f' alone!"

I love this video. Crystal bonk!

This. Also if I'm thinking "For f's sake just have a conversation with them" while I'm reading, clearly this relationship isn't going to last even if there is a HEA/HFN ending.

Agree. As a publisher and freelance editor, I also agree that no other person should replace your own ability to edit because the author must know how to handle any changes suggested by the editor both for stylistic reasons and also grammatical. This allows you to learn from each editing pass.

Okay well actually a reinstall to the current version (I had to roll back last time) and I could import the books I had to import including an indie ARC I'm dying to read once I finish the 2 grief books for a class I'm taking in Feb.

My high school American history classes stopped at WWI (graduated in the 90s) and there's so much that the populace isn't told unless they go looking for it. There's a reason behind that.

The server aspect of it thingy (gods, I sound like a smart tech person, don't I 😜?) doesn't start when the system reboots which happens quite often because our power hiccups at least twice a month. So I have to swap VGA cables, turn on the pc, and then try to launch Calibre which may or may not work

I have laughed SO MUCH at that review, because dude fell for the bait. 😂 (These were conceived as a way to hopefully separate a certain faction from their coin because reading is fundamental or rather reading comprehension is fundamental... but now, I just like writing this character/world.)

There's a pagan nonfiction publisher I'd love to work with, but honestly, the idea of writing a book, waiting months to sell it, then waiting over a year for release -- only to turn over 50% or more of royalties? Aw hell no. I am way too impatient for that.
