I wish someone would fix the Waterloo station wifi/mobile data black hole of doom. When the trains are delayed (frequently) it's impossible to find info as there is no signal whatsoever.

Its quite sad that after wondering what US media were saying about Trump, my next thought was which US news outlets are still independent and can be trusted to be impartial.

The bit that saddens me is the number of people that parrot Trump's lies and propaganda with a straight face. I can't believe they all genuinely share his worldview so must be willing to sacrifice all reality to grasp at power.

Every part of this is bonkers. The intro is bonkers. The transition to his health is bonkers. The mention that other presidents didn't need cognitive exams is bonkers. The claim that this screening test is somehow hard is bonkers. The idea that criticism of him is treason is bonkers. All of it.

Here are US military lawyers stating clearly that Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth's "kill everybody" orders are either (1) war crimes or (2) murder.

Either way, expect prosecutions in the future.

This would be a war crime even if there were an actual war and these people were actual combatants, which there isn't and they weren't.

It's unquestionably an unlawful homicide under any form of law you wish to apply: military or civilian, domestic or international, federal or state. ...

The opinion of the top lawyer for the command overseeing a military operation is critical to whether or not it moves forward. While higher officials can overrule the, it's rare. The one for the Southern Command vetoed the Venezuela ops; they're going ahead.

One man is standing up for the rule of law in Britain. His reward is to be savagely attacked by right wing think tanks, newspapers & politicians. They understand where the battle against populism is taking place. And they've marshalled their forces accordingly.

Oleg Gordievsky has died. What makes him so interesting is that he illustrates the stabilising role intelligence can play: he helped Reagan & Thatcher understand the USSR was genuinely worried about nuclear war, allowing them to take that into account in their policy www.bbc.com/news/article...

This is thuggery from Trump and Vance, plain and simple.

They are bullying the brave true patriot Zelensky into accepting a deal which effectively hands victory to Russia. Unless the UK and Europe step up, we are facing a betrayal of Ukraine.
