Hera’s first view of Mars!

On 12 March, ESA's Hera spacecraft will use Mars’s gravity to take a shortcut to the Didymos binary asteroid system, where it will help turn asteroid deflection into a reliable method for defending Earth.

Just received this photo from a friend of a warehouse in Kinshasa. These are tuberculosis medications--ALREADY PAID FOR--that aren't being distributed due to the Trump Administration's stop work order.
TB treatment is being interrupted in SO many patients around the world. What does that mean? (1/2)

When TB treatment is interrupted, patients are far more likely to develop drug-resistant TB, which is a catastrophe both individually (the disease becomes harder to cure) and societally (we're allowing the bacteria millions of new opportunities to develop further resistance). Many people will die.

a piece of advice i saw and which i think is worth reiterating:

contact everyone with a bigger megaphone than you, ask them what they are going to do about what's happening. doesn't even have to be partisan, just express uncertainty about what this means for whatever institution you're talking to

the reverse of this was when Trump agreed to withdraw from Afghanistan, but since it actually happened on Biden's watch, Biden is the one who's weak and who "let the Taliban win"
So Trump dropped his threat of tariffs against Canada because they agreed to strengthen their border. Two months ago. Under Biden.

Thanks, Biden.

The crescent moon, with the faint Earthshine glow. Similar to how the ground on Earth is brighter during a full moon, the night side of the Moon lights up when the Earth is behind her!
