I moved into my Vancouver apartment back in mid March and to this day I still cannot believe I live here still, the last year has been wild. Moving back to my home town of Winnipeg in October and being miserable to returning to BC in March and my happiness coming back. Vancouver is home in my heart.

If you could of told me in January of 2000 when I moved to the lower mainland that I'd actually be an honest resident of Vancouver Proper I'd of said your kidding...but here we are as I post this from my Marpole area apartment in SW Vancouver...5 minutes from work. I done good I think.

Finally getting my home entertainment system working again post move...been a movie marathon today, first was Short Circuit then Erin Brockovich (F'ing AWESOME movie and first time I've seen it) and now Twister! Movies from the days of decent movies.

Well Vancouver...I left you in October, got miserable and returned in March and my mental state improved vastly. Glad to be back here and oddly living in Vancouver Proper for a change. No long commute, more time for myself, those are important things. Thanks for having me back!

As a new resident of the city of Vancouver I spent some time this evening exploring the city on the west side...Kits, Kerrisdale, more of Marpole etc. This city is freaking gorgeous! So happy to be able to live here.

Hey....if anyone following me in BC hasn't voted yet...go do it NOW! I didn't have a card and I was still able to vote in my area in less than 10 minutes after providing ID. Voting in Canada is a right and it's not difficult to do. Also if you haven't voted, you can't complain!

It's been a little over a month since I returned to the lower mainland of BC...living in Vancouver 2 minutes from work is awesome for time regained, love it here though. Everything I need is rather close by and easily gotten to as I've worked in this particular area for over 21 years.

I've been in my new home for 4 weeks now, so far I've got about 80% of my things unpacked and placed and things hooked up where I want them to be. Still more work to be done but this apartment is slowly becoming a home.

After a nice evening in downtown Vancouver out and about for a decent dinner at La Belle Patate on Davie St. all I can say is if your anywhere near this place...GO! The best Poutine I've ever had and the Steamies were so good...decent prices and great food. Go enjoy!

So, I’ve gone to downtown Vancouver for dinner tonight…now that I live in this city it’s time to explore it since things are closer than they were in the valley.
