Stung Treng provincial spokesman Men Khung confirmed by telephone that the six were arrested after they ignored instructions from authorities to leave the forestry area where no access is allowed. He said the 6 were not environmental activists but attempted to sow anarchy and provoke the authorities

Six environmental activists, including Goldman award winner Ouch Leng, have been arrested in Cambodia while investigating illegal logging.

They're currently being held without charge by military police in Stung Treng province.
