An Ontario teen died after waiting in agony at an ER. His family wants a discretionary inquest to examine the circumstances of his death to help prevent other fatalities. Unlike if someone dies in prison, inquests are not automatic if a child dies in hospital.

I was back at the Ottawa courthouse the last couple of days to cover the sentencing hearing for Tamara Lich and Chris Barber.

Ms. Lich's lawyer, Lawrence Greenspon, is asking the judge for an absolute discharge for his client.
