My brother had the attached paperback copy of Psycho when we were kids & the cover freaked me the Hell out. A good read as I recall, tho it has been a looong time.
The Corgi paperback cover for Robert Bloch's Psycho. It features the blood-spattered tiles of a shower stall with a shadow cast across. A knife blade reflects a pair of very mad eyes.

Labour's efforts to attract support on right 'have brought little reward', says election study The British Election Study, the most authoritative study of voting behaviour in the UK, has published new research today looking at how support for Labour has declined since last summer. “Labour’s collapse in support since the 2024 General Election has been remarkable,” it says. Though Reform has taken Labour’s place at the top of the polls, it is not the case that the two parties are simply trading voters. Reform’s rise has for the most part come from the Conservatives and non-voters, whereas Labour’s support has splintered between indecision and other left-liberal parties. Labour’s efforts to attract support on the right have brought little reward and have potentially alienated much of their base (who make up most of Labour’s losses), and there is a lot of work to be done to convince voters that they can make a difference on the economy. Labour have a large majority in Parliament and four years until they need to hold a new general election, but they have a difficult task to turn things around.

No idea if this fits the bill, but I read Riddley Walker by Russell Hoban this year, and it was so peculiar and excellent that I kind of recommend it to everyone so... It's written in a strange dialect (see attached first few paras).

'Harvest Song, Gathering Song' by @acwise.bsky.social from #TheGhostSequences is a glorious read. Deeply strange, emotionally resonant, moving & transcendent. TBH all the stories are grand, but HSGS just blew me away.

Absolutely wonderful fantasy ft gorgeous trad stop motion & optical FX, some proper spooky witch/demons, creepy horror adjacent imagery, derring-do, an evil wizard, beautiful princess etc
Blew me away when I saw it as a kid & I still love it.
