Medicare has a bad rep for some (it's been good for me so far - dramatic lower cost than regular insurance). Better to start calling it something like Universal Healthcare or American Healthcare to get everyone on board with it. "Be a patriot and vote for health care for everyone!"

Some marvelous trees on our inn property in the Catskill region of New York. The red October Glory takes its name seriously and at this time of year is practically glowing.

You need a bigger calendar.

Our property is lined in the front with October Glory Maple trees and they mean it! No color change until late October. Of course it is hardly Autumn until we get the first frost and the fig tree suddenly drops every single leaf in one night. That tree is such a drama queen.

I remember the sound of the modem connecting and I used punch cards to program payroll checks at work.

The service guy was nice and asked if there was anything else needing fixing on the washer to try to get me something for that hefty price I was paying for essentially him telling me I needed a new part and they had to order it. I see another "travel fee" is in my future.

I hate to see waste even if the ballroom deserves it. It should be turned in to the People's Hall of Liberty. Weekly dinners should be hosted where ordinary people from around the country can come to hear from their representatives and ask questions/get real answers. Civility will be required.
