First decent snow of the season. I love to wander the gardens to see how the snow has decorated the plants. This makes me think of a porcupine

“Untethered to the facts” is putting it nicely…
NEW: Federal judge blocks Trump's National Guard mobilization in Oregon.

"The President’s determination" that the Guard was needed "was simply untethered to the facts," Judge Karin Immergut, a Trump appointee, found. DOJ is appealing.

Please support your rural small businesses, especially in these trying times. We needed one of the spray arms replaced in our commercial dishwasher and the "travel" fee just for the nearest service provider to get to us is over $500, that doesn't include parts and labor. #smallbusinesslife

HUGELY Important.
While Mike Lee and Steve Daines' Senate Natural Resources Committee amendment to the budget reconciliation package mandates the sale of up to 3.3 million acres of public land, what most people miss is that it also authorizes the sale of 258 million acres. That's 40 percent of all public land:

"I hope you're doing ok. If you're feeling lost, take an art class.
The opossum is done! Even while studying #art in undergrad, oil painting seemed intimidating Now, 20+ years later I have the courage and curiosity to do it. I’ve learned so much about trusting the process and myself.

I hope you’re doing ok. If you’re feeling lost, take an art class.

No, we did not get any snow this week, but it certainly felt like the weather was headed in that direction. This was going to be the week that we moved all of the dahlia plants out into the garden. In...

Another art world casualty - received notice that MacPherson's Art Supply, a wholesale company relied on by small art supply stores, including our own, has suddenly shutdown. Anyone know of another US based company. MacPherson's was the largest.

This paragraph is the crux of everything relating to niche hobby industries and why every single hobby that relates to physical objects (specialized electronics, scale models, model railroads, gunpla, stitching, sewing) is either going to be heavily impacted or, more often than not, vanish entirely:

There are 33m companies in the USA. Only 21k employe 500 or more. And they only make up 23% of workers.

Trump and Elon are ignoring the more than 32m entrepreneurs that can't afford to build a new factory or pay tariffs or absorb cancelled contracts.

Anyone out there who recognizes this? I keep it as a memory as it was also the year my daughter was born and she was there with me at this conference.

Life and fascism are happening at the same time...

Order your garden seeds and keep a record of Nazi and fascist players in the government. Play with the grandkids and write a letter to the editor. Make supper and make a phone call to your Representative.

I'm enjoying all the new fiber arts follows! But just a suggestion, a description of your interests in your bio or a couple of introductory posts would be helpful. When all I see is name and nothing else I'm hesitant to follow back, so I usually don't until I learn a little more about you.
