Amusement Cue has a ton of retro cabinets you'll be hard pressed to find even in Tokyo these days. If you're gonna be in Kansai THIS MONTH, this could well be your last chance to play stuff like Tower of Druaga and Arkanoid in their intended forms in this part of the country. Don't miss it!!! 😩
Unless I'm reading this wrong, it looks like Amusement Space CUE in Nara is getting rid of all its retro games and a ton of other stuff on 2/1. This absolutely sucks; A lot of the games had price increases to 200 yen/play, And I'm sure that went as well as you'd expect.

Turns out there’s this entire industry of largely ignored ARPGs that are clearly trying to ape Tales but with like a quarter of the budget and are the go-to genre when your similarly largely ignored anime series is finally big enough for a video game.

Finished Lufa 2 last night after about 48 hours. Incredibly charming little JRPG; I get why it's held in such high regard now.
At the same time I kinda get why no one has ever went back and tried to modernize it outside of the (apparently bad?) NDS remake.
