I’ll cop to really liking those two seasons of Master of None! it played really well to 20 year old dummies like me and he came off as a smart, well-read guy with a unique perspective! it all reads as pretentious and phony in hindsight

I think that single user feature being load-bearing and something that could be revoked kinda speaks to the greater problem. and even if users can effectively filter out the literal nazis, the conservative accommodations bluesky makes policy will likely cause this place to be inhospitable anyway.

Those are user-created safeguards, which are nice but that passes the burden of moderation onto the individual and requires high levels of trust that these block lists are in good faith. For example, I’m on a block list called “Brown shirts” even though I’m left-wing.
