Howdy yall, throwing my intro out into the ether. And some photos for attention: a grafted replacement sock heel, my current EPP quilt in progress, and some yeast rolls. Plus I sing four part barbershop harmony with Sweet Adelines.
I am bad at this. I thought I was such a kind and open person but I am struggling to communicate with my dad who’s been declining due to Alzheimer’s. My brother, who lives here, does this day in and day out. Surely I can do it for four days. It’s just so hard. He’s still my dad. But so different.

I’m all psyched up for my next Halloween costume. But there are ten months (and infinite chicanery) between that and the vanity fair article so I feel certain everyone will have forgotten and won’t recognize who I’m supposed to be.

We are having a “no shopping allowed, get rid of something from your house” gift exchange tomorrow and I’m low key crashing out. I like all my stuff. Elder Child said, “Stop. After dinner let’s go to TJ Maxx and buy a fucking candle.” Clearly the masters in social work classes are effective.

Did *you* know that jumping on a mini trampoline for 10 minutes would make your legs feel like jelly? Because *I* did not anticipate it being as hard as it is. I did shit like that for hours as a kid. Anyway rebounding day one, check.

I enjoy the Popular feed on Reddit and I’ve muted a good number of anime subs from showing up because I don’t need to see giant cartoon boobs over and over. Today I muted my first non anime accounts and both of them were about Real Housewives. I’m no snob but jiminy Christmas people watch this?

My friend needed the sleeves shortened on her polyester jacket. The sewing machine was not a fan of this material so I spent a quiet evening slow stitching the hem with a blind stitch. Heck, even a sharp hand needle needed to be convinced to go through this stuff. #Mending #HandSewing

My son came home from his shift @ the bakery & I started talking about dinner, but he said he was going to his Friendsgiving. I asked what he was bringing & he looked at me blankly. I insisted he needed to contribute, & a text came through right then from the host asking people to bring dessert. 1/2

As the results roll in, this feels like the beginning of a new version of the Left. One that comes together around the value of human decency, having seen how very easily it can be lost. I have renewed hope.

One of my favorite things about BlueSky is how typos and other random use of certain words lands you in a completely unrelated feed. Today’s giggle came from a guilt/quilt typo. I don’t want to go on a guilt trip but I would love a quilt trip!!
