Pitch accent aside, I think the biggest difference between how I say my name in English vs in Japanese is something my partner pointed out! When we say my surname in English, the '-to'（と）goes from the Japanese [to] to a very soft alveolar tap [ɾo] (the same type of 't' in American English 'water')
For English-First Language speakers, you can go way softer on the consonant enunciation than Adrian Pang does here and I wouldn't mind! Getting the right vowel sounds matters more for me when someone is pronouncing my name in English!

Just over a year ago I was missing on this same topic...
Before anyone asks, the most common mispronunciation I've heard since moving to the mainland is "Ah-kah-mah-toh" or "Ah-kah-moh-toh." (I've since started explaining it like "all the O's sound like the o in O'Neill")

so yeah, the consonant pronunciation if you're saying my name in English? Do whatever is natural for your accent! The vowels is what'll make or break if it's my name or not, haha!

I read a really good tumblr post on this subject the other day and tracked it down just now. I largely agree with the sentiment of "man it sucks that artists had to pivot to Making Stuff in a way that is challenging to do with thoughtfulness and care"

the only clue I can give you is that the first keyboard smash is meant to say "giant with;" I think the premise of the dream is me and my flying horse had to work for some big evil giant (Skyrim style giant). after that, it's anyone's game.....
