I feel like it would be easier to cope with if I were getting meaningful, loving support somewhere else.

instead, my hunger for a simple, kind gesture just grows and grows with nowhere to go. it makes the rejections feel absolute.

I feel like I reach out and barely touch people from my island.

and the worst part is knowing that the people who are supposed to be my source of safety are the ones making the walls feel so much closer.

the isolation is emotional as much as it is physical, and it is deliberate.

it's hard not to be overwhelmed by the alienation and dehumanization in the way that they treat my existence.

these are the people I have in my life, whether I like it or not.

they can do whatever they want, and I have basically no recourse.

I am physically trapped here.

it hurts. but what hurts more are the tactics used to justify it.

all these made-up excuses abt why I'm being excluded to make it seem like it's not what it is.

& my responses will just be proof that I'm hysterical and too needy.

Mutual aid and community care are the most effective things you can do right now. Seriously. Sharing other people's fundraisers, making sure people have food and transportation, protecting your immigrant and racialized and trans neighbors, wearing a mask.

people see $1000 and feel overwhelmed. let me break it down: that's just 40 people giving $25. or 100 people giving $10. that covers my meds, supplies, and the specific foods I need for two months. we can find 40 helpers.

I normally only need $500 a month, but I did not meet the September goal.

So I've updated the Monitor on Throne and for some reason it isn't getting the Shipping & Taxes right. The total should be 497.92.

I'm dealing with stigma and having to explain myself over and over again with a disease state that is extremely energy-limiting.

it's honestly pretty cruel when you think about it... the hoops you have to jump through when your baseline is dependent on not overexerting.

but that's the thing: PEM does not register with people even if you explain it in plain words. it's such a foreign concept to them if they have not experienced it themselves.

and when information/awareness about my disease is adjacent to nonexistence, my struggles are amplified.

so my benefits have been reinstated after kicking up a fuss. now, I just have to figure out how to get these in-home services people to work with me since they're trying to make me do a phone call.

the nurse has assumed the problem is comfort when it is actually physical capacity/consequences.
