Having finished reading #ThePoet, I think it's easily my second favorite of the 5 Connelly books I've read. The Concrete Blonde remains at the top, but honestly, The Poet wasn't that far behind. I'm on to Reliquary by Preston & Child next. (I'm having a "Quick Reads" month.)

Sometimes after I've submitted a review, I'll go take a look at what ANN had to say about a premiere. Sometimes they're right in line with my views, sometimes they're on the opposite end of the spectrum from me... and sometimes they're both.

Wow #WitchWatch has a divided response.

Of the 9 #anime I've followed this season, one is continuing into next season.
Of the remaining 8, I've written reviews for 5 of them.
I'll probably get at least one more finished before I need to start on the new season, but I suspect I won't have time for #Orb and #GuildReceptionist.

I feel like #anime has taken up way too much of my time this season. I decided to tackle 9 shows this spring season, and it was frankly... feasible, but not preferable.
I'm trying to draft general outlines of reviews, since I don't want to completely fall apart when it's time to write them properly.

I'm struggling more with #Catch-22 than I thought I would. The vignettes meander so much, that I find myself struggling to pay attention after about 10 pages. I've heard it can take a while to click, so I hope that it'll get easier as I go along.
Hilariously, this seems to be the common experience.

It's odd when an #anime falls short in a way you take for granted. I'm actually enjoying #KuroiwaMedaka a bit. It's one of the weaker shows I'm following this season, but it's gotten some chuckles from me.

However, it has some of the stiffest running animation I've seen in a while.

I've had some difficulty narrowing down my list of anime to follow this season to a reasonable volume. I think my final shortlist might work, but I'm prepared to make cuts moving forward.
I considered writing a reviews for Sakamoto Days & Guild Receptionist, but ended up deciding to take a break.

My review of #SorairoUtility is up on DDP. I've haven't enjoyed my last two golf #anime, but I'm glad this one broke the trend.

My review of GoHands's latest #anime atrocity is up on DDP. I don't know why #MomentaryLily exists, and I don't understand how GoHands found new ways to suck.

When I'm doing First Impressions #anime reviews there is a trade off. I don't have time to review every show premiering.

There was only one non-sequel/spinoff show today & I still regret watching it. The trade-off here is that I could have not watched it.
Review/Mental Breakdown will be out later.

My first impressions review of #AmekuMD is up on Death's Door Prods.
It's a weird #anime season when I can say that this will probably be the second-best medical mystery drama led by a short headstrong woman this season.

My last review for Fall 2024 is now up on DDP. #HowIAttendedanAll-Guy'sMixer is an odd show to end the season on, but... screw it, I win. I aimed to review 5 different shows during the fall, and I finished writing all of my reviews before any of the Winter anime I'm interested in started airing.

Ugh. There's nothing like being a stone's throw from the ending of a story, and then watching everything turn into a messy car crash... twice. My review of #Maou2099 is up on DDP, but this is one of those confusing messes that might stick with me for a while.
This was so close to working.

My review of #NegativePositiveAngler is up on DDPs. Truth be told, it was up two days ago, but I spent yesterday marathoning another anime from this past season that proved to be much less satisfying & I forgot. 😂
NPA is pretty good, but not for me.
Coming up next, a review of a mess that is for me.

Ugh, I just finished one of the #anime that I thought might be a hidden gem of the season, but the pacing just left me baffled.

Given the size of my reading backlog, I'm not getting to it anytime soon, but I need to read the LN source material to see how badly this production was butchered.

Oh, right. My review of #Ranma½ is up on Death's Door Prods. I've been marathoning a few shows to see if I can wrap them up before the winter anime season starts, so I completely forgot about posting this. 😅
I'm a little over halfway done with reviews... The odds aren't really in my favor here.

My review of #Dandadan is up on @deathsdoorprods.bsky.social. I'm now playing catch-up on a couple of shows. I thought I could neglect Ranma for a week or two, because surely it wouldn't be a single cour, right? I've been too half-assed at keeping up.

I like the #Superman teaser quite a bit.
I understand why some are concerned by the presence of other DC characters, but Gunn's assurance that those characters are part of an existing world that we're stepping into goes a long way to ease those concerns. I think it's an interesting approach to take.

I finished #Relic this evening. It was a pretty brisk read, and rather fun. I judged it a bit harshly for the critic quote on the front claiming it was better than Jurassic Park (it can't compare to Crichton's A-game), but it was enjoyable if schlocky.
Though one character becomes Wesker at the end.

I find #NegaPosiAngler to be divisive for me. (I'm a bit behind.) I enjoy the interpersonal relationships and watching our lead expand his horizons.
...But the moment they start talking about fishing & trying to teach the viewer about it, I instantly become bored. Fishing and I just don't get along.

I'm switching over to #TheStoryGraph from Goodreads. I'd considered doing this maybe a year ago, but hadn't seen any good alternatives for tracking my reading that enabled the level of goal tracking that I wanted.

Fortunately, it looks like SG fits the bill.

So, historically, #USAA has been known for its really bad savings account interest rates. However, they've heard our complaints and they want us to know... it can get worse.
My APY dropped from 0.1% to 0.01%. That's garbage by any standard.

I'm posting this here so that maybe it will encourage me to finally get around to coloring it.
I drew this a couple months ago & I figured that the best way to get yourself back drawing is to choose the least symmetrical character you have. I am annoyed with the size of the ear. Might fix that.

Truth be told, I really haven't been very active on social media in a while, but having straddled the fence, I've decided to properly set up a BlueSky account.
Maybe I'll get back in the habit of posting links to my #anime reviews as soon as I get back in the habit of writing them. 😅
