Apparently orange backglass art is the key to compensating for that LED temperature. 🤣

Technically, there was an advantage to space heater bulbs when you had a slow processor back in the old days. You could strobe them with a long duty cycle and they would still appear to be solid on.

I miss warm incandescents. I'll never change my games to LEDs if I can help it. There was a magic to that glow.

Is the purple GI also a thing or an artifact of the photo?

Oh wait, I wrote that cool scramble wipe as well. An homage to the Wizard Blocks "shatter" effect we never shipped. The shipped attract mode is identical to what was in the code when I left.

Actually, that was the *only* code I wrote for that game before quitting PLD.

I was excited when Stern and CES (their hardware vendor) got *8* colors into SAM1's dot controller. I wrote the fades into the Family Guy attract mode as a test of how smooth it looked.

I recall we did have a "dotbox" apparatus which was a hacked up WPC system that could accept Dpaint frames and display them. I don't think it could do animations but I could be wrong. Our guys were really good at 3 colors of orange and after a while didn't need to see it running on the plasma much.

Currently visiting a house full of 3-way rocker switches and half of them are stuck in the limbo position. It's like that game on The Price is Right where you have to keep running back to the big machine and pull the handle to see if you are right.

Also doesn't hurt when you name a concert hall after yourself, too.

Sadly, we lost Lia Mortensen in 2023. She was the voice of the female genie.
