@glennklockwood it's been a while since I was a program manager, but 1. one does not have to be a researcher to do peer review; in your case you would bring your unique perspective shaped by your various roles, and 2. usually one follows the money to determine if there's a conflict-of-interest […]

LOL it appears that I re-recorded all of Chasse-neige on Side B, before Rhapsodie Espagnole! So even in high school I was OCD!

Arrgghh! I had forgotten I ran out of tape about 2/3 of the way into Chasse-neige

The tape unhelpfully says "Petula Clark". Must have been a recycled tape

Birder Ed is another one of these people to learn from. He told me to look for Orange-crowned Warbler hunting for aphids under leaves. The spot where it was last seen had a lot of invasive plants whose aphids were not native, but that didn't seem to bother the birds (yes, Birder Ed pulled a lot […]

LOL "retroactive", yeah: one guy had checked off a flicker when the guy next to him thought it could have been an Evening Grosbeak then changed it after EVGR was confirmed. Another guy claimed he heard it and was "confirmed by Merlin" a day after an experienced birder saw a pair but couldn't get […]
