Oh hai! Quick re-intro and things you can expect from me:

- Tech and tech-adjacent commentary
- Games and film appreciation
- Extreme extroversion
- Chewing on the status quo
- Pun-offs with anyone willing

I don't take myself seriously (try, trolls) and I believe in better. ♥️

Welcome!

😆

My other fav is the stray I caught from helping a friend's website yearssss ago and now I get happy birthdays from a dentist in Cincinnati.

I could unsubscribe that one but it's just so consistently the most aggressive birthday greeting that I just keep it for the laugh 😆

Every year, I get a random, group email about a sixth-grade class' curriculum from a school in Reinbek, Germany. My past attempts to get off the list clearly aren't successful so yeah I'm just enjoying this random quirk of existing online 😆

Back at you. Your post put me in a rabbit hole with this morning's news so I'm gonna be watching how companies go underground or around the communities that might continue to push back.

Ohhhh thanks for the heads up! I'm def exploring more of the Eastern/Central area of the state these days since I've known mostly WNY and yeah I'm often overwhelmed by how many apple farms we drive by.

Will see how this all hits home.

That new "99 to Beat" game show (think Squid Games with zero seriousness) is on now and it's the exact speed of garbage TV I crave 😆

And then the next pile of eps for Love Is Blind: Denver

I'll be sedated by midnight

Fwiw I'm seeing patterns of states catching on. It's taking a sec to see the abysmal results and effects but it's starting to resonate 👀

I don't think tech is ready for this next part. I'm glad communities are.

what if I told you that taking accountability for your actions was traditionally considered a load-bearing feature of masculinity?

“I voted for none of this."

Prominent influencers, including Theo Von, Joe Rogan, and Andrew Schulz, are starting to distance themselves from the president they helped propel to the White House.

Altman claims the company didn’t anticipate people not wanting their deepfakes to say “offensive things or things that they find deeply problematic,” which sounds like a lie but is also indicative of how they recklessly release tech into the world.
OpenAI wasn’t expecting Sora’s copyright drama
It felt “more different to images than people expected.”

MTG is an icky opportunist. Period. But no denying how I smirk whenever that chaos crashes down on key areas in my favor from time to time.

Do you want a shovel to keep going or...?

So much can shift once you decondition your need and expectation to be the default in every room. Also, learning how whiteness plays into systemic oppression and the definition of racism that you need to revisit.

Also also, *B* Black.

Pls stop.

Shout-out to this delightful toy 😆💩 crowd pleaser that I think more parents should snag
The plastic rainbow "Silly Poopy" toy in my hand. It's a game that plays hide and seek so your kiddo has to find it around the house.

I just saw someone use the abbreviation “AI;DR” and I’ll be laughing for a while.

I think if we know anything about social media companies at this point it’s that the main problem they have are human beings using their service

Meta’s new A.I.-generated video app, Vibes, launched last month to overwhelmingly negative reception. The “Hard Fork” co-hosts discussed why. "It’s essentially like TikTok, but if TikTok were populated just by little animated A.I.-generated shorts." nyti.ms/4ocx2LW
A quote from Kevin Roose, co-host of "Hard Fork": "I was not surprised to see Meta announcing a version of essentially a social network with no actual people on it. I think this is the direction that they’ve been moving for several years now."

It's The Matrix week in my class, one big takeaway: only 2 of 18 had seen the film before, but everyone else knew it through memes & vague references to "living in the matrix". Memification of the film's central moments kinda trivialized them, they were watching through the lens of memes.
