I know I'm posting more often -- maybe too much -- but it's the only way I can cope.

On one hand, I refuse to stay silent about the horrible things that are happening.

On the other hand, I refuse to let them distract me from the things that bring us joy and usefulness.

Oh my God, what an incredibly real and incredibly terrifying story. These grown men were locked inside a restaurant? Wow.

It's hard to say where that ranks next to the state-sanctioned murders and the kidnapping of children, but gosh, they were briefly locked inside a restaurant? Heaven forfend.

Look, I understand that we all need escapism right now. If yours includes steamy historical romance (like, say, Bridgerton), I recommend the Wallflower series. This has no lasting literary value, but frankly, at this point, I do not care.

In 2016, I edited an article about this way-out-there project, and decided to look up its progress since then. Cool reading.

Also, may I say that I don’t agree with people saying ICE and CBP need “more training.” They’re doing exactly what this administration has trained them to—impose a reign of fear in blue cities. They don’t need more training. They need to be ripped up root and branch.
