The story of British politics for my entire life (born in 1977) is pretty much a succession of governments trying to rebrand trickle down economics and pretending they’re doing something new, and we’ve all been gaslit into accepting anything else as being “radical”.

“Gender critical human rights organisation” is at least 1% better than describing them as a women’s rights organisation. Now if they could just interrogate, as journalists, what “gender critical human rights” are they wouldn’t actually advance anybody’s rights and their entire premise is limiting

held to account then you can brazenly do what you like because the machinery to forcibly hold power to account is quite weak and certainly insufficient. Bo Jo and others definitely took inspiration from Trump there. I don’t know how we can fix these problems because they play into each other.

I really wish he would. The more mainstream voices that start to notice how the press is gaslighting the entire trans community the better. It’s not even hidden anymore. Open hostility is now seen as “one side of a difficult debate”.
