For the first time though in a while I feel like there are some mixed signals from the government on trans rights. Perhaps a hint that they are at least considering a serious course correction. It’s so hard to predict anything though as they seem to be hell bent on making poor political choices.

If the government were genuinely worried that ECHR involvement could add fuel to the “leave the ECHR” fire then they would try to get ahead of this and reinforce trans rights before it gets to the stage of the ECHR forcing their hand. Or at least they would if they had any political sense.

Literally every answer given in every survey ever is a self declaration. What are they even talking about? Is there a magical form of survey that verifies your answers somehow? “Excuse me, you rated this one 4/10 but actually you feel more 6/10 about it. And don’t get me started on your genitals.”

I think the positive is that it’s a sign that the wind is changing. Not because he’s trying to change it, of course. I’m not crediting him with that - he’s merely following it. But potentially a sign that even with all the media suppression the pressure is starting to tell.

I think he would be worse in the sense that he’s not as thick as DJT, and therefore potentially can do more harm. However, MAGA has been built up essentially as a cult of personality. Vance won’t have the same influence and I suspect the republicans will end up at war with each other.
