All opinions are less than unqualified
Why doesn't anyone ever consider that if WE were the ones to define our enemies we would do a perfect job and only execute outstanding threats?

Arguably the Nazis were highly decentralized, most of the time they weren’t working off explicit orders but instead vaguely working towards what they thought the Fuhrer wanted. A centralized system, if anything, will make prosecuting these fuckers much easier

Bush was also extremely like this, I think the main difference is that they had the international communists and terrorism to localize their violence on. Trump is only different because he’s turning the American gun on America

“We don’t think it’s legal” concedes the possibility of an argument, I’d rather hear “It is illegal”

Whereas most philosophical problems aren’t pragmatic, and if they become pragmatic they become applied disciplines. That consciousness could be reduced to engineering, with all the philosophical whys remaining underneath, is the sort of horrifying ‘abyss stares back’ moment that STEM worship hides
August 8, 2025 at 3:22 PM
The “why” of how a bridge works can be as philosophically obfuscated as “why are we conscious” but like we can build bridges quite easily so the barrier of demonstrating “why” the bridge works is annihilated by the pragmatism of its consistent replicability

There’s a sort of self-taught deference to pragmatism philosophy types cloak themselves in to preserve their sense of certainty and control of their existence, in modernity this comes across most in blind STEM worship
