Story wise, there are some pretty drastic changes from the short, which mostly work in the movie's favor, turning it into a story about obsession rather than general urban anxiety.

Though the ending is largely the same and doesn't really fit with what they've setup. Kind of a mess, still good.

Midnight Meat Train

A Clive Barker adaptation and it's not only not crap it's quite good! The death scenes are wildly stylized, much higher energy than I was expecting, it was practically as absurd as the Resident Evil movies at times.

It also feels wrong since certain characters seem built for other characters. Like wdym Leon never meets Marvin in this???

Friday the 13th Part V: A New Beginning

Bit of a black sheep for the franchise and here's the twist: I kinda love it. It's very sleazy and vulgar but got all the blood and tiddies I wanted so I'm happy. These characters are completely unlikable but very memorable thanks to some really trash lines

Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives

Not as good as I was expecting but still a decent watch. Surprised by it not just being funny but generally more light hearted as well. Feels almost like a PG13 at times, if it wasn't for the violence.

Charming, but I prefer these movies when they're sleazy.

so many of the small indignities of daily life come from us being denied the ability to tell a rich man in a tech company to fuck off. minesweeper has microtransactions. paid services have ads. the opt out says maybe later. the drive thru is a broken chatbot. your car is an ipad. fuck off! fuck off!

Resident Evil 7

I have discovered by tolerance for horror games dramatically increases if I am given a gun. Anyways it's rad and the RE engine is magic.

Ethan remains the best RE character by virtue of remaining a completely normal dude throughout the most dire circumstances.
