1) Crisco shortening is the goat.
2) Honeycrisp apples are delish.
3) Always include caramel.
Kept this pie in the oven just a couple of minutes too long, but otherwise it turned out great, and the crust was flaky as a 70s hippie.

My beverage of choice this Thanksgiving afternoon is a mug of warm apple cider with several drams of Suntory plum liqueur. I’ve had this particular bottle for 7 1/2 years and intend to drink it up this winter.

I tried to bathe the cat today. Not traditional bathing because that is never going to happen, but rather the water free, foam in a can, bath experience. I’ve managed to get half of her so far, and it was not pretty. So now we’re both relaxing.

It’s been rainy and overcast here in BloNo. Ventured outdoors to fill up the bird/squirrel feeder, and the smell of decomposing leaves combined with the damp ground is divine.
