Means testing programs force people on the lower end of the spectrum to constantly restate everything they own while there is massive tax evasion on the other end of the income and wealth spectrum. Congress and state governments must be held to account for this by us.

This is all because @gavinnewsom.bsky.social thinks Medi-Cal has a "spending problem" and he thinks taking resources away from the disabled and elderly is the solution. He wants us to live on less than $2,000 a month. In the state of California.

It doesn't, and it's been proven time and again. The definition of madness works on both sides of the political spectrum it seems. And what's worse is disabled people are still being judged like it's the 1980s.

Whether at a state or federal level, the belief that disabled people are secretly rich off the government is so pervasive and I'm sick of it! We have literal oligarchs making billions but, sure, take away healthcare for someone who has a savings account to pay for their aids when the shit goes down.

I've written my fair share of letters voicing my anger at this but looks like I'm gonna have to break my phone spell and call his offices and emphasize how horrible he is while he pats himself on the back for being better than our President which...okay, but healthcare still a problem, dude.

Don't give him ideas, Bob! Next my cats are gonna be counted as literal children! I'm "allowed" a car and a house. But nothing above a certain threshold in savings. Only a "certain" retirement account which they don't define until you disclose you have one (I'm guessing).
