The holiday train in Loretto was a fun experience. Many families came from the surrounding areas to take in the experience, donate canned goods to the local food shelf, and listen to Christmas music. Loretto Mayor Kent Koch presented a $4,500 check to the Hanover Food Shelf.

Yesterday I decorated some cookies with my friend Senator Ann Johnson Stewart (SD45) at her fundraiser at Excelsior Brewing. Thank you to all who came out on such a cold day to support Ann!

It was great to meet Anders Folk, Hennepin County Attorney candidate, at a gathering this evening. When I learned of his background with the Veterans Defense Project and advocating for veteran treatment courts in MN and across the U.S., I knew who I would support for Hennepin County Attorney.

I stopped in at City of Maple Plain work session tonight. They were discussing changes needed for their fire department ahead of their joining the West Suburban Fire District, adjusting their food truck ordinance, council committee appointments for the year, the next year’s fee schedule, and more.

84 years ago on December 7, 1941, was one of the worst attacks on America in our history, at US Naval base Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. The attack killed more than two thousand Americans and sunk US war ships that remain underwater in the harbor to this day.

We prepared for the holidays in a truly Maple Grove way, with the parade at The Shoppes at Arbor Lakes, fire dancers, our Maple Grove Ambassador Scholarship Program, and the tree lighting sponsored by Osseo/Maple Grove American Legion Post 172 where I am a member. I hope you all had a great time!

A friend of mine passed away after her battle with homelessness and mental health, and there is a brick at the feet of the angel with her name. We will never forget our angels.

Chip and I attended the annual Friends of the Angel Candlelight Memorial tonight. As a public servant, I have come to know several tragic losses in our community and have watched the families navigate their grief.

I stopped in at Edina Realty Maple Grove to see @jarrodpetersonregroup. He was not there but I got to meet Santa and get a Rudolph the Rednosed Reindeer face paint. Bring the kiddos for a phot op with Santa and some Christmas cookies!

My schedule these days prevents me from participating as thoroughly as I’d like with some of these activities, but tonight it was great to be in the Osseo Minidazzle parade with the Legion color guard and attend a women’s Christmas dessert at my church.

I’m originally from smalltown ND. Ten years ago my husband and I chose district 37 to put down roots. I learned quickly about this community through serving in leadership positions on my church council, the rotary board, and at my American Legion post.

I was delighted to sit in a Medina City Council meeting last night where the city recognized Joshua McKinley’s 10 years on the PD, approved their annual budget and fee schedule, and reviewed a new 50 unit multifamily affordable housing complex.

Third stop on Small Business Saturday Heidi’s Growhaus in Corcoran. I bought a winter plant for my porch. They are serving hot cider and Christmas cookies, and there’s a bonfire to warm up while shopping the wares outside!

@thewoodsgifts was my 2nd small business Saturday stop. I have six nephews, and thanks to The Woods, I found something for four of the boys, making some serious Christmas shopping progress just this afternoon!

Because of my prior career in global manufacturing where I saw the excess and waste, and now working with veterans experiencing homelessness, I don’t add things to my life unless I am really sure it fills a specific use. I also love the brand’s mission of helping women and children in India.

My first stop on Small Business Saturday was Mama’s Happy, a newer shop on Main Street in Maple Grove. I finally found a nice backpack purse! I have been looking for a bag like this for years.

My gym @crossfitunastamus does hero wods every Saturday. Today was the Colson in honor of Det. Jacai Colson who was killed in the line of duty March 13, 2016. A very challenging workout, great for the Saturday after Thanksgiving!
