13 years ago today we were in Texas visiting family. My phone rang in the middle of dinner. It was the adoption agency letting us know a mother had chosen us as her beautiful daughter’s adoptive parents. The greatest gift we could ever receive, and it came on my wife’s birthday. We are so lucky.
