To be fair, most things I buy disappear from supermarket shelves.

That’s not what’s happening. And this is not positive for Ukraine.

An Amazon search has absolutely no value if you can’t find what you are looking for when your very specific and detailed search of a product is on page 6 of the search results. But look at Microsoft and Activision with XBox gamepass prices being hiked. Lina Khan was so spot on.

I rarely buy goods from Amazon these days even though I am a Prime subscriber. I ran out of my floss sticks that I had purchased on Amazon. So went to Amazon to search for the specific brand and could not find it. Somehow after a google search I was taken back to Amazon and there it was.

Miserable performance. The mentality of not going for a win after scoring an equaliser is despicable. Taking your shirt off and running to the fans instead of going to pick up the ball and taking it back to the halfway line is not exactly winning mentality. Pathetic.

Absolutely. i understand that social media is destroying our democracy. But not addressing inequality, funding social services, healthcare, education, not trying to address the decline in productivity, our economy of rent seekers is a nihilistic strategy that will guarantee failure.

The 10-yr yield is now flat/down. There will not be a dislocation in the treasury market because of this. At least until there is a Supreme Court decision and even then if there is a spike in yields, it will be temporary.

And it works very well. Self-censorship is an important modus operandi in an authoritarian regime.

At the extreme, it looks exactly how Imre Kertesz presents it in his book Fateless. Living under authoritarian rule eats your soul. Your whole body focuses on extending your at best amoral existence.

Oh yes, and businesses (also many individuals) will not complain out of fear of being targeted. You want to stay low and seem irrelevant, maybe they’ll forget about you. Existence under authoritarian rule is very different. You’ll lear and het used to it.

Finally, the costs of building out a fascist state and deconstructing the very institutions that had created wealth and prosperity for Americans (even if lately, inequality has surged and is undermining democracy) will manifest over the long term. Long term costs are discounted just like revenues.
