I always believed they were singing laments for the bedrock from which they were hewn. If you could find the place exactly between the stone and its ancestral home, and listen with the right frame of mind, you would hear the harmonies of loss from the choir.

Every now and then I think back to the Dreamcast VMU and feel so bad for the designers that the console wasn't the hit it deserved to be. A memory card that's also a mini console, an in-controller display, and can be played back to back against another player for game rewards is just nuts.

I grinned so hard when Justin made the announcement that I hurt my face.

Bumped into Ed packing up after busking in York years ago. I bought his new album and asked if he'd ever recorded Moonlight Shadow, which he used to play live. He said no, but unpacked and played it for me. Absolute gent.

The @scarfolk.bsky.social 197* annual is dark as all fuck, and I'm absolutely here for it.

There's a brilliant article in it that relates hard to the other book I bought today, but maybe later :)

I think my colleague has won the office PC monitor decoration competition this year. Good game, everyone.

I suspect today's charity shop find from 1999 will be entertaining in ways the authors perhaps didn't intend :)

Couldn't resist. Will report back later :)

- The lights are on but there's nobody home?
- Pull my finger?
- You're gonna get your f'kin 'ead kicked in?

I've been wondering about that for years tbh. It's hard to tell around here.

The same shop had this sign up a few years ago though, so maybe you're onto something.

I feel like Sainsburys might have provided the starting point for a story here.

You could be the next custodian of the funky little Invacar that inspired me to doodle this in a spare few minutes :)

Message Ian if you're up to the challenge and fancy being the talk of your next car meet!

I think I found the Platonic ideal typewriter that all other typewriters are simple shadow copies of. If you took a single thing away it wouldn't be a typewriter any more

This photo was released by English Heritage showing what appears to be a faceless intruder at Chester Castle.

Look around the figure, top left and bottom right. Anyone else think those look like appalling cloning artefacts from a photo editor?

As it's coming up to Halloween, I have questions.
