Loved "Rise" when it came out (though I knew it was deeply uncool compared to everything my friends liked). But that record has some great deep tracks -- dig the synths on "Rotation":

At some point, I discovered another LP in my folks' collection. By this time, he was calling the band the T.J.B. and leaning hard into the easiest of easy listening, but I still loved it.

Now that I think about it, I knew enough to buy a King Tubby "Best of" CD, Lee "Scratch" Perry's Arkology box set, and a couple of Mad Professor CDs (including his remix of Massive Attack's "Protection"). Huh, I blanked on a whole era of my listening history.
