Looked up some early Sharon Jones singles and was delighted to discover that Daptone is still releasing incredible music. I don't know much about rocksteady or dub, but every time I encounter it, I enjoy the hell out of it.

Accidentally arrived at Costco as they were opening on Saturday, to an enormous line. You would have thought we lived in the food-shortage-era Soviet Union for how fearful and desperate the crowd felt.

I adore this group. Their sound is all over the place (everything from phonk to Shōwa era synthpop to southern praise break), but their message and perspective is consistently positive.

I adore this group. Their sound is all over the place (everything from phonk to Shōwa era synthpop to southern praise break), but their message and perspective is consistently positive.
I don't know if it's the best track from _McCartney_, but it's definitely my favorite. What a pretty version.

While I'm on the subject of Television, I'm always disappointed there aren't more live versions of "1880 or So" floating around. Richard Lloyd's solos are never anything less than inspired.

My first laptop was a PowerBook 145. I honestly couldn't fathom why you'd need anything more than a monochrome display or a 40MB hard drive.
