While “why run if cars exist???” is the standard counter, I don’t think it really applies. A car still depends on the skill of a human driver, and motorsports are a distinctly different competition from human footraces. In chess, the human is obsolete and their skill doesn’t matter.

someone can only demand you be so small for them for so long before you just can't anymore. your brain no longer works that way. it's not real feelings they're expressing, it's justification to keep you small so they can feel big, or like they're in control. and so what? control your own life.
