Playing around with a (for now physical) new game idea. A minimalistic wargame. The idea is to make it very small so that everything fit in a tiny box that you can bring with you. That philosophy goes for the rules as well. Extremely rules-light.

A full day on a train is a day full of work. Built a little character controller and a system to pick up objects.
It’s far from perfect, but it works well enough for now. It’s the first playable part of our first larger school project. More updates to come!

Playing around with volumetric fog in Unity today. The FPS is high but kinda all over the place, going from 120 to 90 and back again, causing it to look a bit choppy.

We have some progress! You can now pick up items, carry them around and have them interact with objects. The player model is also replaced, and we have started implementing some facial expressions. Five days to go!

My latest school project with a classmate. A couple of days in production at this point. The goal is to have something resembling a small game in a month or so, with a short gameloop. I'm working on the inventory system now, followed by upgrade system and then, finally, combat!

Trying a more minimalistic approach for my home screen. Some symbols are not quite right, such as Amazon for Audible, Instagram for Flashes, etc. But at least I know what everything is.

Another WIP update. We now have a stack of platforms placed in front of the player that we draw from to create the level during play. Each stack is made up randomly from available platforms, and each platform will (probably) come with its own challenge. #gamedev #indiedev
