Playing around with a (for now physical) new game idea. A minimalistic wargame. The idea is to make it very small so that everything fit in a tiny box that you can bring with you. That philosophy goes for the rules as well. Extremely rules-light.

It’s far from perfect, but it works well enough for now. It’s the first playable part of our first larger school project. More updates to come!

This might be the best idea I’ve had for ages – a “Pokédex” for regular animals. Snap a picture. Give it to an LLM and ask it to write a Pokémonesque description. Create a note with the image and description in whatever note-taking app you’d like. Great excuse to get out in nature!

Play testing in action.
I’ve had this ongoing project for several years for a solo adventure card game with focus on quests and exploration. Every now and then I come up with a new rule or cards, or revise some part of the game. I have a clear vision of what I want it to be, but haven’t been sure exactly how to get there.

I found out that Disney Lorcana has a solo-mode! I've wanted to start playing some TCG or CCG, but I'm not that into the idea of Magic, Pokemon, or Yu-Gi-Oh. But Lorcana seems to find a good middle-ground. A bit more rules-light than Magic, some nice mechanics, such as the ink well, and a solo mode!

The number of different solutions for two-factor authentication is driving me insane. It’s just too much. That combined with “accept cookies” banners, subscription to newsletter popups, and ads every-fucking-where really ruin the experience of being online.

I decided to try out Unreal Engine in order to at least have the basics of the three main game engines out there. I must say that Unreal did a strong first impression! It feels so much more polished than Unity (as if that’s something to brag about…), and overall smoother.

Ballsy loves to fly. But he’s really scared of falling. Not a great combo. Being thrown at enemies with a lot of pointy spikes? He doesn’t really know what to think about that yet. I don’t think he’s a fan.
Adding enemies! The weapon arsenal is a bit limited haha but you make do with what you have! #indiegamedev #gamedev
