A big chunk of the problem here is that most people have no idea how much it costs to provide the level of service they expect. So paying in $x may make them feel owed something very unrealistic.

Huh? Biden won South Carolina, Buttigieg/Klobuchar dropped and endorsed him, and then Biden won 10/14 states on Super Tuesday.
I voted Warren in the MN primary that day and was sorely disappointed but don't feel the need to revise history with a half-baked conspiracy theory.

"Forced"? What is the lore in your head that endows the DNC or anyone else with that sort of power? None of the other candidates had the steam (money, volunteers, or votes) to press on.
